For the academic year 2024–25, Kumaran Higher Secondary School in the Karur Assembly constituency received this prestigious award as the Best School in Karur District, along with a cash prize of ₹75,000. During this occasion, the school’s Headmistress Mrs. M. Sivakami, PTA President Mr. D.T.K. Arulmurugan, and the teaching staff were appreciated for their efforts and excellence.
On 23-07-2025, a special camp under #Ungaludan_Stalin, launched by Hon’ble CM M.K. Stalin to deliver essential services to people’s doorsteps, was held at Rettiyar Mandapam, Ward 37, Thanthonimalai, Karur. Petitions were received from residents. The CBSE Cluster VI Athletic Meet 2025–2026 was inaugurated today at Karur Velammal Vidyalaya with blessings from CM Thalapathy @mkstalin and under the guidance of Deputy CM Udhayanidhi Stalin. Karur Collector M. Thangavel, IAS, and Paralympic gold medalist Mariyappan Thangavelu graced the event. Students, athletes, and the public participated with great enthusiasm.
